We at Thorya Travel Consultancy understand that a great deal of trust goes with making a booking with us and we take this very seriously and make it a priority to ensure this information is stored securely and confidentially. This privacy policy applies to data collected by Thorya Travel Consultancy (Thorya Travel) and its websites thoryatravel.com and luxurybreaks.thoryatravel.com.

Who we are

Thorya Travel Consultancy (Thorya Travel) is registered in Scotland under Sole Proprietorship – wholly owned and operated by Birgit Thorya De-Schuster Orsi.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Your privacy is important to us and we will not share this information with anybody unless required however, in order to be able to process your booking request and make arrangements for you it is necessary to maintain certain personal data. This can include but is not limited to information about yourself and your travel companions.

  • Travel document number (passport or identity card)
  • Credit Card information
  • Contact information

Certain personal information provided to Thorya Travel Consultancy including but not limited to passport information will be provided only to the relevant suppliers of your experience as required for the delivery and provision of your travel arrangements. This information therefore may be communicated to public authorities, such as customs or immigration as required by their law. This may also apply to sensitive information however all information is maintained on a confidential basis and only provided when absolutely necessary.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

Our contact forms are to enable you to contact us. Information entered in our forms are used to contact you in order to provide a service to you and assist you with your request.

Who we share your data with

We do not disclose or share your information to any third parties other than those required in order to arrange your requested travel arrangements. Any information is shared with a trusted travel provider, used to provide you with the travel service arranged. Please note that depending on how you communicated your information to us it is possible that there too, a record of this exists (ie. Facebook, What’sApp, email server etc) therefore it is good practise to provide your completed booking form with the second part of your information sent separately, as requested by Thorya Travel Consultancy when making your booking with us.

Where we get your information from

All information held by Thorya Travel Consultancy (Thorya travel) is provided by the customer directly as part of the booking process or via social media. Whether you have provided your personal information online, by phone, email, via social media or in a letter, we will never use them without a lawful reason to do so. The information you have provided will only be used for the purpose they were requested for and as explained in our privacy policy. It is your responsibility to ensure your personal data is accurate and up to date; therefore please do not hesitate to contact us anytime to update this.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

In order to make the booking process easier for you we will keep a record of your details on file. This will be stored for up to 5 years from when the business relationship ends if required by law and will be deleted afterwards. After this occurs it will again become necessary for you to provide your details in order to process your booking and transactions. You have the right to request access and deletion of this information at any time and this will be completed as soon as legally possible.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

How we protect your data

We process your data in a lawful and transparent manner. We take necessary steps in order to keep your information protected and safe and will not store your data for longer than necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. Tax law, authorities and legal obligation may require us to keep your data for a period of 5 years from when the business relationship ends however you have the right to request access and deletion of this information at any time and this will be completed as soon as legally possible.

Right of Erasure: You may request to have your data deleted at any time and stop any future communication with you. Your request will always be considered in light of the legal bases that we hold, store and process your personal data and will be deleted without further delay where the legal bases permits. If for a legal reason we are unable to immediately process your request you will be explained the reason for this and when it will be possible to complete your request.

Right to Object to Processing: You have the right to object to certain types of processing of your personal data. We will always inform you of any new arrangement how your data will be processed.
